All the Mods 10 Magic Guide

ATM10 includes several magic mods, each with unique mechanics and progression. Ars Nouveau lets you build custom spells with glyphs, Iron's Spells gives you ready-made combat magic, Occultism summons demons to work for you, and EvilCraft provides blood-powered tools and enchantments. This guide covers the most useful parts of each system.

Ars Nouveau

The most versatile magic mod in ATM10. You create custom spells by combining glyphs, and the mod also adds portals, mob farming, flight, and a full storage system.

Getting Started

Step 1: Craft a Spell Book. Tier 1 uses iron-level materials. Tier 2 requires blaze rods, quartz, obsidian, and 3 diamonds. Higher tiers = more glyph slots per spell.
Step 2: Craft a Scribes Table. Right-click with the spell book to access glyph unlocking. You unlock glyphs with XP and materials.
Step 3: Build an Enchanting Apparatus for advanced crafting. Many Ars Nouveau items require this multiblock.

Best Ars Nouveau Spells and Glyphs

Extract Glyph (Silk Touch)

Tier 2, costs 5 levels + 1 emerald to unlock. Spell: Projectile > Break > Extract. Silk touches any block including spawners. No tool durability cost. One of the best glyphs in the mod.

Leap Glyph (Flight)

Requires Wilden Wings + Air Essence. Self-cast. Boosts you in the direction you are looking. High mana cost (reduceable with Sorcerer armor). Break your fall by casting in any direction before hitting the ground. A-tier early flight.

Dispel Glyph

Used to release mobs from Containment Jars. Essential for the Drigmy mob farming setup.

Ars Nouveau Source Generation

Source is the mana system for Ars Nouveau. You need source jars filled to at least 90% for warp portals and other advanced features.

Agronomic Source Link

Produces source from nearby crop growth. Place near farms for passive generation.

Snad Farm (Fastest)

Craft Snad (2 sand). Plant sugarcane or cactus on it with a redstone clock nearby. Massively accelerated growth fills source jars quickly via Agronomic Source Link.

Warp Portals

Step 1: Craft a Warp Scroll. Shift right-click to record your target location.
Step 2: Build a nether-portal-shaped frame out of Source Stone (any stone + source gem in a stonecutter).
Step 3: Place a source jar nearby (must be 90%+ full). Throw the warp scroll into the portal frame. The portal activates.

Portals work cross-dimensionally. Build them flat for mob farms (mobs fall through and teleport to a kill zone). Stabilized Warp Scroll (Enchanting Apparatus + ender pearls + blaze powder) gives infinite uses.

Drigmy Mob Farming

Drigmies passively generate mob drops without killing actual mobs. One of the most powerful passive income systems in the pack.

Step 1: Find Wild Drigmies in the world. Combine Wild Drigmy + Wild Horn = Drigmy Token. Process in Enchanting Apparatus = Drigmy Charm.
Step 2: Place the Drigmy Charm on mossy cobblestone. It creates a henge. The Drigmy harvests mob drops passively.
Step 3: Place a chest underneath + source access. More unique mobs nearby = more productive. Use Containment Jars with trapped mobs within 10 blocks.
Step 4: Use a Tablet of Containment + Ritual Brazier to auto-capture mobs into jars. Can capture Wardens, Cataclysm bosses, and Iron's Spells priests for their drops.

Blacklisted: Wither (no nether stars), Iron Golem (no iron).

Tablet of Scrying

Right-click with any item to highlight all instances of that item or block in the world with glowing particles. Lasts 30 seconds. Works for ores, flowers, structures, and anything else. Excellent for finding specific ores or rare blocks.

Tablet of Flight

Ritual brazier + Tablet of Flight. Provides creative flight in a radius around the brazier, powered by source. 5 minutes uses ~22% of one source jar. S-tier flight option for building and base work.

Storage Lectern

Ars Nouveau has its own storage system that rivals AE2 for mid-game:

Step 1: Craft a Storage Lectern (4 chests + lectern in Enchanting Apparatus).
Step 2: Use a Dominion Wand to link inventories (shift right-click chest, then right-click lectern).
Step 3: Add a Bookworm Charm (Ritual of Awakening + book and quill) for item retrieval. Each bookworm handles 8 inventories.
Step 4: Connect Create Vaults for massive storage. Vaults are the best containers for this system (scalable from 1x1 to 3x3 extended). Gives you an AE-style searchable interface for all linked items.

Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks

Pre-made spells that you slot into a spell book. Focused on combat and utility magic with a straightforward crafting system.

Angel Wings (Flight Spell)

Step 1: Get Legendary Ink. Obtain from mob drops, upgrade epic ink with amethyst in a cauldron, or dip a legendary scroll (50% chance).
Step 2: Craft the Holy spell: divine pearl + amethyst + gold. Then craft Angel Wings: legendary ink + paper + divine pearl.
Step 3: Slot into your spell book. Press V to activate. Provides elytra-style flight for 2 minutes with a 2-minute cooldown (legendary ink version = infinite loop). Costs 120 mana. A Priest Helmet provides nearly double that.

The Dead King (Boss)

The main boss from Iron's Spells. Found in specific dungeon structures. Drops the Blood Staff and other magical loot. Bring good armor and ranged options.

Occultism

Summon demons and spirits to automate tasks. Occultism also provides a power-free storage system.

Storage System

Works like AE2 but needs no power. Multiple tiers: basic storage, dimensional storage, stabilized dimensional storage. Add Inert Storage Accessors for remote access from anywhere. Great mid-game option before you set up AE2.

Getting Started

Step 1: Craft Impure Red Chalk. Requires a torch flower (find in Hanging Gardens in the Bumble Zone, or use a Sniffer).
Step 2: Draw pentacles on the ground with the chalk. Follow the Occultism guidebook for specific patterns.
Step 3: Summon spirits to perform tasks: mining, crafting, transporting items, and more. Higher-tier spirits handle more complex automation.

EvilCraft

Blood-powered magic focused on tools, enchantments, and unique items. See also our enchantments guide for Fortune 5 and enchantment extraction.

Blood System

Blood Extractor

Dark gem + iron + spikes. Kill mobs to fill with blood. Your primary blood source early on. Collect Dark Gems while mining underground.

Blood Infuser

The main crafting machine for EvilCraft. Makes Undead Saplings, Blood Books, and more. Powered by blood.

Blood Chest

Give it blood, place damaged tools inside. Auto-repairs tools relatively quickly. Great passive tool maintenance.

Condensed Blood

Found in dungeon chests. Place in any fluid storage to convert directly to blood. Saves killing mobs early on.

EvilCraft Broom (Flight)

Craft with rod + cap + brush. Mix and match materials for different stats (emerald gem cap = maneuverability + modifier slots). Fill with blood from a Dark Tank. Fly with mouse movement control. Add modifiers:

Modifier Material Effect
Speed Redstone Faster top speed
Acceleration Coal Faster speed ramp-up
Maneuverability Glowstone Tighter turning

A-tier early game flight. Blood-fueled, accessible before the Nether.

Key EvilCraft Items

Vengeance Pickaxe

Fortune 5 pickaxe. Full crafting process in the enchantments guide.

Vein Sword

Comes with Looting 2 built in. Craft, extract the enchantment with the anvil method, and apply to your main weapon.

Eternal Water Bucket

Weather Container > Dark Temple beam > Rain Weather Container + water buckets > Eternal Water Bucket. Infinite water placement anywhere. Also available as Eternal Water Block for fluid systems.
