Setting Up Your Own Server
Method 1: CurseForge Server Files
Step 1: Go to the ATM10 CurseForge page and download the Server Pack (not the client pack).
Step 2: Extract the zip to a folder on your server machine.
Step 3: Run the included
startserver.bat (Windows) or startserver.sh (Linux) script. It will download everything automatically.
Step 4: On first run, it will stop and ask you to accept the EULA. Open
eula.txt and change eula=false to eula=true.
Step 5: Run the start script again. The server will fully boot (takes 3-5 minutes the first time).
Step 6: Connect from your client using
localhost (if same machine) or the server's IP address.
Method 2: Hosted Server Provider
If you don't want to manage hardware, many hosting providers support ATM10:
Requirements when choosing a host: Make sure they support Java 21, NeoForge, offer at least 10 GB RAM, and use NVMe SSD storage.
Setup: Most hosts let you select "All the Mods 10" from a modpack list and auto-install it. Then just share the IP with your friends.
Server Configuration Tips
| Setting | Location | Recommended Value |
|---|---|---|
| Max players | server.properties | Match your RAM allocation |
| View distance | server.properties | 8-10 (lower = better TPS) |
| Simulation distance | server.properties | 6-8 |
| Spawn protection | server.properties | 0 (use FTB Chunks instead) |
| Max tick time | server.properties | 120000 (modded needs more time) |
Built-in Multiplayer Features
ATM10 includes several mods specifically designed for multiplayer gameplay:
FTB Teams
Create teams with friends. Team members share quest progress, chunk claims, and can access each other's protected areas.FTB Chunks (Claim System)
Claim chunks to protect your base from other players. Right-click the map to claim areas. Team members can build in your claimed chunks.FTB Quests (Shared Progress)
Quest progress is shared per team. When one player completes a quest, the whole team gets credit and rewards.Waystones (Shared Travel)
Waystones activated by any player can be used by all players on the server. Build a public Waystone network for everyone.Cross-Dimensional Multiplayer Features
Ender Cells (Per-Player Power)
Mekanism's Ender Cells provide per-player energy storage that works across dimensions. Each player has their own Ender Cell network — your power stays separate from other players. Place Ender Cells at your machines and power sources for wireless, cross-dimensional energy transfer.
Player Transmitters (Wireless Power)
Mekanism's Player Transmitters wirelessly send power from generators to machines anywhere, even across dimensions. Set one at your Wind Generator array and one at your base — no cables needed.
Multiplayer Tips
| Tip | Details |
|---|---|
| Claim your chunks early | Use FTB Chunks immediately after building. Unclaimed bases can be accessed by anyone |
| Create a team | Use /ftbteams party create [name] to make a team, then invite friends with /ftbteams party invite [player] |
| Coordinate dimensions | Split dimension exploration between team members. One person does Twilight Forest while another does Mining Dimension |
| Share Waystones | Place Waystones at team bases and important locations. Everyone on the server can use them |
| Use /back on death | Commands like /back, /home, and /spawn work on most ATM10 servers. Use /sethome at your base |
| Watch server TPS | If the server lags, reduce chunk loaders, simplify redstone, and avoid massive mob farms |
